    Neurodivergence

Neurodivergence is a blanket term for several conditions including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder among other things. Individuals with neurodivergence may struggle with sensory overwhelm, emotion recognition and regulation, building and maintaining relationships, and executive functioning skills. Therapy can help you explore the way it impacts you as well as build strategies to manage the more challenging parts.

    Career Issues/Burnout

For those struggling with burnout, it can feel incredibly exhausting to do the things they used to enjoy or to engage with work at all. It also often finds its way into a lot of other areas of your life including relationships. Whether you are considering a career change, experiencing compassion fatigue, or looking to have better work-life boundaries. We can work to help you discover your next steps.

    Grief

Whether you have experienced a loss, or are facing a major life change, there are many ways that grief can show up in your life. No matter the loss, your grief matters. Therapy can provide you the space to process the loss, navigate your pain, and find new connections and a sense of meaning after the loss.

    Trauma

Trauma can lead to wide range of experiences including challenges with self-image, feelings of intense guilt or shame, difficulty with trusting ourselves or others, hypervigilance, intrusive memories, or just feeling numb or disconnected. In therapy we can learn to recognize the impacts of trauma and the ways our responses helped us get through those traumas. We can also work to rebuild trust in ourselves or others or build new skills for managing difficult emotions or triggers. Whether you want to talk about what happened or not, healing is possible.

    Relationship Issues

Whether you are coming to therapy with your partner(s) or individually, we can work on improving skills for success in your relationships. Typically individuals may be struggling with boundary setting, communicating needs, or making decisions around whether to continue their relationships. I have experience working with individuals who may also be practicing ethical non-monogamy or other forms of nontraditional relationship structures. I am also happy to support those navigating family estrangement or processing other difficulties related to their family of origin. We are social beings so relationship health can have a big impact on our overall mental health.

    LGBTQ+/Gender Identity

There are many unique challenges that you may face as someone within the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Whether you are navigating exploring your identity, considering coming out, or navigating other areas of your life that may overlap with these identities we can work to help you live authentically as yourself. I am also able to provide WPATH letters for individuals seeking gender affirming medical care. I strive to practice from an affirming and sensitive lens when working with anyone who holds a marginalized identity. Even if it isn’t a focus for your therapy, this is a space that is safe for diverse identities.

    Therapy for Therapists

If you are a therapist looking for your own therapy, it can be very difficult to find someone you feel comfortable with. I have experience working with other mental health professionals and strive to honor your knowledge while ensuring that our work does not feel like supervision or chatting with a colleague. You deserve your own space to be heard - whether you need to process the challenges of the work you do or address concerns entirely unrelated to your work.

While these are some of the areas I most commonly work with, I also have experience working with a variety of other concerns including parenting challenges (especially related to raising neurodivergent children), depression or mood disorders, major life transitions (retirement, caring for aging parents, or launching into adulthood), self-esteem issues, perfectionism, and school/college challenges.
